Massive walls of sound slamming into one another while swirling among the chiptune inspired melodies. Booming drum sections carried along by increasingly catchy vocal hooks. Each section differing heavily from the last, while retaining the atmosphere of every track in and of itself. That is the basis of sound commonly associated with Heart Pieces.

Nearly a decade in the making, the ‘heart pieces’ project is no stranger to both club-exploding sounds and experimental wavelengths. Fronted by veteran producer, Darren Ross (aka Forekast), every track breaks the expected boundaries of chosen genre, smashing the soundscapes into bits.

Glimpses of the parts that would later make up the whole of this project can be see stretching all the way back to mid-2017 when Forekast was working on his final artist album, Sunshine Traveler. Departing from the traditional club-friendly sound, and four-to-the-floor patterns, an artist starving for the opportunity to experiment was evident.

Working on many songs which would never find a home, Darren would often wonder if he could even embark on a new sonic journey into the electronic music realm. Taking a break from music for a bit, by summer 2023, he’d find himself staring down the crossroads of a path allowing him to embrace this experimental avenue.

Stepping away from the club-induced mania, Darren would stumble upon a new name. From there, heart pieces would grab the reigns, riding into the frequency-boosted sunset and leaving a glittering aura of unique sound behind in his wake.

With his EP debut titled ‘Emotional Observator’ consisting of 7 unique tracks and 1 remix exploring a whole new palette of noise. One thing can be said for certain, the ‘heart pieces’ project knows no boundaries and is constrained by no musical restrictions. With every track, the listener is left wondering what could possibly happen next.
